New Delhi [India], July 17 (ANI): Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar visited Yamuna Vatika and Baansera Park in Delhi on Thursday, where he was received by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.
Dhankhar praised India’s fast economic growth and the development work in the capital.
He also praised Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena’s efforts, calling his work in Delhi “game-changing” and saying the riverfront would become a major global attraction.
Speaking to the reporters, Dhankhar said, “Delhi is the capital of Bharat. The work done by the Lt Governor Vinai Saxena is a game-changing work. People of Delhi will remember forever that his efforts are bearing fruit. Delhi is being provided with new lungs, new power. Because that was a big challenge. I am sure more and more Delhi people will enjoy the scenic beauty, the eco-friendly beauty, and this is going to be amazing. I am sure the riverfront will match the best in the world. And I have no doubt once it is fully developed it will be a global attraction…”
Dhankhar said that India has seen a remarkable rise in the past decade, moving from the 11th to the 4th largest economy in the world and heading towards becoming the third.
He said development has been fast, with better roads, electricity, gas, toilets, internet, and health and education services reaching every home.
“Something amazing has happened. India, a 1/6 of humanity has experienced an unprecedented economic surge. From being at number 11 and being amongst the fragile five to being the fourth global economy on the way to becoming the third. Infrastructure development has been phenomenal, unimaginable. People-centric policies have resulted in electricity, toilet, gas connection, and Internet in every household. Educational facilities and health facilities are available virtually next door… The development witnessed during the last decade is unmatched. The growth has been more than 6.5 per cent, where other large economies are struggling. This has made India the most aspirational nation in the world,” Dhankhar said. (ANI)
