Patna (Bihar) [India], July 23 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed deep condolences on the deaths of four people who drowned in River Ganga in the Narayanpur block of the Navgachiya subdivision of Bhagalpur district.
The Chief Minister also directed to give ex-gratia grants of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
“The Chief Minister has said that this incident is very sad. CM has directed to give ex-gratia grants of four lakh rupees each to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister has prayed to God to give strength to the families of the deceased and to bear patience in this hour of grief,” a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office said.
Earlier, CM Kumar expressed his condolences after six people lost their lives in a road accident in the Bakhtiyarpur police station area of Patna in Bihar on Tuesday morning.
“Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed deep condolences on the death of six people in a road accident situated on the Bakhtiyarpur-Biharsharif road under the Bakhtiyarpur police station of Barh subdivision. The incident is extremely sad,” the Chief Minister Office stated.
As many as six people were killed and five others injured after a car collided with a truck on the national highway in the Bakhtiyarpur police station area of Patna in Bihar.
“Information was received about the road accident on the national highway in the Bakhtiyarpur police station area, where a car collided with a truck parked on the road. A total of 11 people were in the car,” Abhishek Singh, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Barh-2, said.
He further said that a total of six people lost their lives in the accident.
“5 injured people are undergoing treatment. A postmortem of the body is being done. The incident is being investigated based on CCTV footage, forensic evidence, and other technical analysis. Law and order are normal,” he added. (ANI)
