New Delhi [India], October 14 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Atishi held a high-level meeting on Monday with senior officials from the Jal Board, Flood and Irrigation Department, Revenue Department, and all district officials ahead of the Chhath Puja.
The Chief Minister instructed the officials to start all necessary preparations in advance to avoid last-minute rushes, ensuring that devotees face no difficulties during the festival.
CM Atishi emphasized that Chhath Puja is a festival of faith for millions of devotees and assured that the Delhi Government is committed to ensuring the festival is celebrated with joy and that devotees can worship Chhathi Maiya without any inconvenience.
She directed all district officials to begin the preparations for Chhath Ghats in their respective areas and to hold meetings with local Chhath Puja committees to gather suggestions for a successful celebration.
CM Atishi also announced that, like every year, the Delhi Government will prepare “more than 1,000 Chhath Ghats across the city for the convenience of devotees, so they can worship near their homes.”
All these Chhath Ghats will be equipped with “clean water, tents, electricity, toilets, security, medical facilities, power backup, CCTV cameras, and other necessary arrangements.”
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to pay special attention to cleanliness at the Ghats.
Model Chhath Ghat to be established in every Assembly Constituency for devotees’ convenience
For the convenience of devotees, the Delhi Government will set up a “large, model Chhath Ghat in every assembly constituency” this year, where cultural programs will also be organized by the government.
Chhath Puja is a festival dedicated to the Sun that is celebrated with much exuberance in several north-Indian states and even outside the country. (ANI)
